Smelling great is a must! People will always remember a good fragrance and smelling certain scents is nostalgic.

Here is a fun yet interesting fact…

While all the senses are connected with memories, smell in particular sparks a flurry of emotional memories. Why? After a smell enters the nose, it travels through the cranial nerve through the olfactory bulb, which helps the brain process smells. The olfactory bulb is part of the limbic system, the emotional center of the brain. As a member of the limbic system, the olfactory bulb can easily access the amygdala, which plays a role in emotional memories (it’s also where the “fight or flight” reflex comes from). Olfactory has a strong input into the amygdala, which process emotions. The kind of memories that it evokes are good and they are more powerful. This close relationship between the olfactory and the amygdala is one of the reason odors cause a spark of nostalgia.

In layman’s terms, its a must that you smell good.

I love a great smelling fragrance, but I hate when its so popular and a lot of people are walking around smelling like you. I love to have a signature scent, so people know “that’s Mel” lol. I have put together a list of my favorite scents with descriptions of each one.

Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin

This is one of my all time everyday wear fragrances. No lie, whenever I wear this soooo many people stop to ask me what I have on. It has fresh zesty sharp & uplifting Top notes which are lime mandarin orange & bergamot Middle notes are basil caraway lilac & iris Base notes are patchouli & vetiver. It is definitely a daytime scent. I wore it whenever though.

Chanel 28 La Pausa

This smells really good. It has a powdery iris fragrance, but it also has a woody note that gives it its backbone. This scent makes you feel like you are surrounded by calming fresh air.

Estee Lauder Beyond Paradise

This scent is a blend of florals with a tropical twist.

Le Labo Santal 33

I love this fragrance because it is earthy as well as mysterious. It’s like you can’t place the scent. It is unisex, so it has a floral note with a hint of spicy. You can share this with bae lol

Laura Mercier Eau Gourmande Fragrances

My favorite one is the vanilla. They also offer a butter creme that I LOVE.  You can most definitely layer the different scents – vanilla, fresh fig, and almond coconut.

Maison Martin Margiela Beach Walk

This stuff smells incredible. The fragrance is sweet yet salty. Reminds me of the beach!

Bond No. 9

Who doesn’t love Bond fragrances?!?! There are so many options to choose from and they all smell great! There was a period of time a couple of years ago, where Bond No. 9 was all I wore.

Chanel Chance Eau De Parfum

This is a go to scent when you want to feel confident and all around strong. It has musky notes that smell a bit masculine yet sexy.

Tom Ford Black Orchid

This scent is so distinct, bold and complex. Think floral and woody musk. Guys love this, which makes perfect sense since this is a unisex fragrance.

Valentino Valentina

This smell is sweet, but not too sweet. Not too many people wear this, so you don’t smell it everywhere you go.
