This past weekend was great! I was hosting my event in D.C. – Mompreneurs: Mamas in Business. This was my second time putting this event together and it was just as amazing as the first one. The purpose of the event is to show women that you are able to juggle it all; business, family and a personal life. So many women choose family over their dreams or vice versa. A panel of women who are successfully balancing everything give their insight to all of the guests and show them that it doesn’t have to be “either or”, it can be “and”. Here is a quick summary of our weekend, including a quick video!

CHECKING IN:

We got to D.C. on Saturday morning and went straight to our hotel – The Kimpton Hotel Monaco! When I say this hotel is amazing, I MEAN this hotel is amazing.  I am really big on design and the decor alone is simply gorgeous! From the minute you walk in, everything is beautiful. The staff there are very accommodating and personable. Everyone that works there is nice, everyone! A big plus for me is that the hotel is family and pet friendly. As you can see, AnnDrew was climbing all around like she owned the place lol.

When we first walked to the desk to check in, we were greeted with warm cookies on the counter and infused water. I don’t know who told them that snacks are the way to my heart, but they were on the money lol! I ate 4 in 10 minutes! How the staff works at the front desk and not eat those cookies all day long is beyond me because I know I wouldn’t last!

A member of the staff showed us around the hotel and was very helpful answering any questions I had. We got to the hotel early, so we walked around looking at all of the sites to see in the hotel while we waited for our room to be ready. We saw a couple of small dogs and other children during our stay and AnnDrew made a few friends.  While the hotel was pet and family friendly, the vibe wasn’t thrown off. It still was very swanky and posh!

USIES & ROOM SERVICE:

Hotel Monaco must’ve been designed by a woman because there are a few huge mirrors that were made for selfies/ Usies! Our room was the perfect size for the two of us.  We had a closet, king bed, office desk, beautiful bathroom and so much space to play! AnnDrew got her first taste of room service at the hotel and it was the most adorable thing ever. She ate her food in bed with her favorite doll, “baby”. She didn’t know what to get her hands on first lol.

DINING:

We ate at the restaurant in the Hotel Monaco, Dirty Habit. This restaurant has a full menu and a children’s menu. They have great options and I loved my meal. Of course AnnDrew tore her food up. She tears everything up LOL! There are two bars, outdoor patio and private rooms for private parties and of course, great decor!

My event was on Sunday and unfortunately, we had to check out that morning! I didn’t want leaveee lol I was so comfortable in the bed and in the robes that they provide guests (You’ll see my robe in the video). My event took place at the National Union Building which was only about a block away.  It would’ve been such an inconvenience to have to lug all of our bags to the venue but thankfully the hotel staff said we could leave our items there all day even after we checked out! That was such a life saver.  They were so accommodating and I was so happy we chose to stay there. When you travel with kids, you need everything to be as smooth as possible.  Staying at a family friendly hotel is the best decision you can make!

I would highly recommend this Hotel Monaco if you are traveling to D.C. with the family.  The staff is hospitable, accommodating and the hotel is close to attractions. Here is the link if you would like to check them out further.

The event was great! Some women brought their babies to the event with them and i thought that was all that! These women did not let anything stand in their way from attending, even if that means baby must come.  So many people left inspired and ready to get to work. The goal of these events is to empower and inspire and we accomplished our goal…..again!

The next city I am hitting it ATL SHAWTYYYYY!
