This year for my birthday, I celebrated in Aruba! I originally wanted to go to Honduras and swim with the jaguars but I found out that the jaguars weren’t there anymore. So, the flamingos in Aruba it was. They were SO pretty and I loved every second of the trip. My favorite part was feeding the flamingos #FLAMINGOALS. It was so cool and a must do if you visit Aruba. I listed some quick information about Aruba below and shared some photos from my trip.

HOTEL:

We stayed at the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino. The hotel has a private island where the flamingos are. The hotel boat shuttle takes people to and from the private island every 10 minutes up until 6:45pm. Once you get to the private island, it is split in two sides. One side has iguanas and children are allowed to stay on that side and the other side is where the flamingos are and children are only allowed on that side between 9am-10am. If you do not stay at the Renaissance Hotel, you will have to purchase a day pass to visit the private island. The side with the iguanas has a small play area for children and surf boards for you to use. There are bars with drinks an food on each side.

FOOD RECS:

If you want a good restaurant suggestion, make sure you try Yemanja Woodfire Grill. It was delicious!

BEACHES:

Aruba has sooo many beautiful beaches to visit! We went to Palm Island Beach and Eagle Beach. We planned on going to Arashi Beach but didn’t get a chance. The water is so clear, its crazy. All beaches are open to the public and are accessible by car and taxi. Some other beaches to visit are Baby Beach, Boca Catalina, Boca Grandi, Dos Playa, Malmok Beach and Wariruri Beach. Check out some other beach options here.

THINGS TO DO:

There are a lot of nice things to do while on the island. Renaissance Island is always at the top of the list. Some other things to do are:

Visit the butterfly farm

ATV Tours

Sightseeing

Scuba Diving

Water Sports on the Beach

Go to the Casino

Ostrich Farm

Donkey Sanctuary

Visit the California Lighthouse – We did this. When it is open, you are able to go all the way to the top and see panoramic views of the island.
