This post is all about family vacation to Bahamas.

If you are trying to figure out the best vacation destination for your family, the Bahamas is where you need to go. We just got back from our family vacation to The Bahamas (Nassau & Exuma). Every year, our family goes somewhere on my daughter’s birthday and we have a ball. We wanted to find a resort that was nice, had great amenities and was kid friendly.

Where we stayed

For our family vacation to Bahamas we decided to stay at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas. This hotel is family friendly, has tons of activities for kids and adults, so many restaurants, right on the beach and the best pools! You really don’t need to leave the resort if you don’t want to because of all of the hotel features.

Baha Mar has three hotels: SLS, Grand Hyatt and Rosewood. We chose the Grand Hyatt because of the amenities for the kids. I also loved how they give everyone a wristband that is your room key and it allows you to charge things to the room.

Before you get to the Bahamas, you need: a negative covid test and a Bahamas Health Pass within 72 hours of your flight. Once you have a negative covid test result, you need to apply for the Bahamas government visa. Let me tell you, this process was a lot especially when you need to complete each for yourself and kids in that 72-hour window. Luckily, they send the health visa back within 2 hours of submitting your application.

What we did

While on our family vacation to Bahamas, we only booked one excursion and the rest of the time, we did things on the resort. We booked a day trip to Exuma to swim with the pigs and the sharks. We booked our excursion through 3N Vacations. They have so many different excursions you can book and I am so happy we did it through them. They took care of everything and made our experience so fun. I highly recommend doing this if you are planning to go to the Bahamas.

The excursion included 7 stops:

Feed the swimming pigs on Pig Beach

Petting Sharks at Compass Bay

Snorkel in the Thunderball Grotto

Walk along a beautiful sandbar

Lunch at a local Yacht Club

Visit Iguanas at Guana Cay

Visit a Sunken Plane

To get to Exuma, we flew on a small charter plane to the island and when we arrived, they were awaiting us. We were able to use the bathroom and get snacks if we wanted. We met our captain and then got on our way! The total excursion was 7 hours (4 hours on the boat). I liked that we did SO much, but still was able to get back with enough time to have more time to do other things.

The resort also has its own luxury amusement park (Baha Bay) on the property. This was SO FUN and the kids had a BALL!!!! There are so many different areas within the park to accommodate all ages. We stayed in the kids section (Turtle Beach), so the kids can enjoy themselves. There are so many activities for big kids and adults too: a wave pool, surf-simulator, lazy river, group slides, straight -shot tube slides and a water playground. Baha Bay is Free to all Baha Mar guests.

What we ate

This hotel had amazing restaurants and the food was good!! The resort has a ton of dining options to appease anyone’s needs. There are 26 restaurants and 16 bars throughout the entire Baha Mar properties. We also went into town to get some good local food!

Outfit Details

This fringe cover up was so cute and I got some many compliments.

I really enjoyed our trip and if anyone is planning a family vacation, I highly recommend the Bahamas!!
