OUR TIME AT DISNEY WORLD + TIPS

A few months ago, we decided to take AnnDrew to Walt Disney World. I couldn’t wait to see how excited she was going to be once we got there. Walt Disney World gifted us a couple pair of tickets and we were so hype to go (maybe it was really me that was extra hype, but hey)! I’m naturally a planner, so I immediately started to research what we needed to do to prepare for Magic Kingdom (that is the park we chose to go to). I called Disney and set up AnnDrew’s ride fast passes. If you are unfamiliar with fast passes, they are basically a “cut the line” card. They help you avoid standing on long lines at the park and wasting your time on lines.  There are a lot of rides there, but we only let her go on the rides that are toddler friendly. If you have a toddler and are planning to go, below is a list of toddler friendly rides.

10 Best Rides at Magic Kingdom for Toddlers (under 48 inches tall)

1. Jungle Cruise – located in Adventureland. It is a fun nostalgic ride through the jungles of Asia, Africa and the Amazon.
2. Pirates of the Caribbean – a slow moving ride that is perfect for toddler and preschoolers.
3. It’s a Small World – this is a slow moving boat ride where the kids get to sing “It’s a Small World” (repeatedly LOL)
4. Peter Pan’s Flight – the little ones are drawn into the story of Peter Pan as they get to walk through the Darling’s home.
5. Under the Sea – Journey of Little Mermaid – toddlers get to enjoy an indoors ride watching the story of Little Mermaid and Ariel’s life unfold.
6. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – not only is this a fun ride, but it is entertaining for children while they wait in line.
7. Mad Tea Party – a whirlwind of fun for parents and kids. Kids get to sit in the tea cups and spin the cups around by turning the wheel.
8. Dumbo The Fly Elephant – a cool ride where kids sit in Dumbo and lift up in the air. Kids can control how high they go.
9. Tomorrowland Speedway – kids under 48 in. need to be accompanied by a parent and can “drive” the cars.
10. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – toddlers enjoy this ride. To infinity and BEYOND!

If you are planning to bring small children, I do suggest bringing a stroller or using one of those backpack leashes. We brought a stroller and it was a lifesaver. You don’t have to carry the kids all the time and they can nap if they need to. There are SO many people there and it can be very overwhelming. If you do not want to bring your stroller, they rent them there. There is stroller parking outside of each ride, so you can pull up and park lol. There seems to be a honor system with the strollers, but I am from NY and didn’t trust it lol. My mom and Drew’s dad was with us, so they were able to stay with our stuff while we went on rides.

We made a Winnie the Pooh character lunch reservation for her. With the character dining, you get to eat (buffet style) and the characters walk around and greet the kids. We tried to get her a reservation for Cinderella’s Royal table, but those get booked as far as 180 days out. I called so many times to try and catch a cancellation, but had no luck. Winnie The Pooh dining was cool, but AnnDrew was not feeling any of the characters LOL. She did love the conga line. She loves to dance, so that was right up her alley!

Overall, we had an awesome time! We ate giant turkey legs, we watched the parade, ate ice cream, rode rides like we were kids again and really enjoyed ourselves! If you are planning a trip with the kids, prepare for a great time! If you are going during the hotter months, make sure you pack sunscreen and drink lots of water! And don’t forget to have an amazing time! It is the most magical place in the world! 😉 Enjoy some of our pictures below…
