This post is all about how to make bath time fun for toddlers.

I am very big on making everything an experience and that goes for bath time too! I want my kids to be able to find the simple pleasures in everything they do. My oldest daughter LOVES a bubble bath, so one day I decided to take it up a notch. I looked up some safe and fun bath time toys that both my 6-year-old and 1 year old can both enjoy. In this post, I will share some fun toys, lights and other items that will make your kids so excited for bath time.

Look at that face! She literally LIVES for bath time once I add all the works!

Tips to make bath time more fun:

  • Choose awesome bath toys. There are so many toys to choose from, but you want to make sure you get toys that are safe and your kids will actually enjoy. I remember reading about certain bath toys that retain mold within them and that is a huge no-no. The mold can get your kids very sick, so you want to make sure you avoid that.
  • BUBBLES! The more the better. You can add bubbles that you blow ad well as bubbles in the tub. I highly recommend a tear-free soap or bubble bath.
  • Bring on the music. Add some songs that your kids love to make a sudsy sing-a-long party!

These are great organic non-toxic bath time crayons that I highly recommend.

  • Kids love to color, so make sure you let them unleash their creativity in the tub with some organic non-toxic bath crayons.
  • Tell stories to your kids. You can come up with fun stories and act out the different scenes of the tales.
  • Lighting is one of my favorite parts of bath time. I love to add some funky lights to create a super cool mood!

These three toys are my bath time heavy hitters! My kids love these three the most. What's great about the astronaut light is that it's versatile and I also use it as a night light! It has so many different color light settings and you can control how the lights move around the room.

These toys are also in our bath time line up! My youngest daughter loves the octopus and being able to put the rings on the tentacles are great for her coordination!

BATH TUB SAFETY

While you and your littles are having the best time, you want to make sure that you are doing it safely. The main thing I like to do, is to cover the tub faucet with a small bucket or a thick cloth to avoid head bumps or backs scratching against it when standing up.

Some other tips I have regarding water safety are:

  • Make sure you have everything at the start of the bath. There is nothing more annoying than forgetting to get something after the child is already in the tub. If it is something that you must have, I recommend to take the child out of the tub to avoid any drowning risks.
  • You will want to make sure that the water is at a perfect temperature for your child. Be sure to check the temperature before placing the child in the tub
  • Lastly, make sure you remove all electronics from around the tub. As we know, electronics and water do not mix!

All in all, bath time is a really a fun bonding time for you and your little one so make it fun! As long as bath time is safe and fun, it will always be an amazing memory that you share with your child.
