What better way to boss up this Spring than in a Power Suit? This post is all about power suits for women.
Women have taken over the suit game, and there is no turning back. Power suits for women naturally bring edge and class to not only the workforce but to our everyday lives for every occasion. Suits are now being worn to more than just the office for at 9-5’s but to brunch on the weekends with our girls. The great part about styling suits is that they can be styled however you like. If you are more of a casual woman they can be dressed down with sneakers. If your vibe is more edgy, they can be styled with heels. Styling suits is what you make it, and it can fit into anyone’s personal aesthetic.
A little history on Power Suits for Women…
It all started with the Chanel skirt suit. The beautiful suit became a symbol of the modern woman for its functionality and seamless design made using tweed and silk. The first version of the power suit was seen at Gabrielle Chanel’s salon in 1925. It was inspired by the comfort of menswear and her rejection of feminine fineries prominent in French fashion. She presented a collection of jersey skirt suits with awesome mobility and wouldn’t limit women in their everyday lives. Strict lines, a fitted cut, sleeves that start at the shoulder, real pockets, and an enduring range of colors, was the precise code the couturier followed for each suit.
Power suits are great staple pieces for spring and are easy to style. The Melanie Marie Store now has new power suits for the new season. The suits come in pink, black and white. You can never go wrong with a black suit for both day and night looks. If you are looking to add color to your wardrobe this season the “Boss Babe Set” in pink would be a great start. The Boss Babe Set jacket has a tie in the front to cinch in the waist area which can be worn with or without a top underneath. The pants have two ties around the ankle area to give off a different look and edge! It also has an elastic waist and a button closure in the front.
Below are photos of how Melanie has styled the Boss Babe Set. She kept her look edgy and chic with a pair of uniquely shaped clear pink sunnies, heels, and her white Mini Jodie Bottega Veneta bag.
Which color Boss Babe Set will you be rocking this spring?
