Today, we took AnnDrew to her first modeling casting. It was for Carter’s Baby Basics. We, of course were more excited than she was. When we got there, there were tons of mothers with their babies outside that had finished and just came from the casting.  All the moms were checking out the competition lol and let me tell you, these “stage moms” and “Pageant moms” are not to be played with.  These women are intense and play no games. When we got off the elevator, we followed the signs to get to the actual casting.  We walked in to see so many parents with their kids.  You could hear some whispers about AnnDrew’s hair and see the stares when we walked in.  We payed them no mind, signed in and sat in our own corner. Women were in there trying to keep their kids in good moods by breast feeding, giving them snacks or showing them their favorite shows. Anything to keep the kids smiling! They called our name and we went back to be greeted by a woman that took all of AnnDrew’s stats. A photographer then took a few pics of her and then we were out.  We were there for about 30 minutes. The casting was short, yet exciting.  Our plan is to start her off modeling and if she decides she doesn’t like it as she gets older, we won’t force her to continue.

I started off modeling when I was 6 months old. I was signed to an agency called “Tickle Me”. I know, it sounds freaky lol.  One of the best opportunity’s that came from me modeling was that I able to travel to Paris to walk a runway for children’s clothing.  I look back at all the work I did and its exciting to know I will be able to do the same with AnnDrew.

Here are some pictures of me from my childhood modeling days.

What resources do you use to know what castings are taking place in the city?

    Hi!

I remember you had a blog with tips on getting your child into modeling. I can’t seem to find it. Can you repost it if you took it down?
