When I found out I was pregnant, I was so excited! After it finally sunk in, I was so scared of what my body would transform into. I worked out and stayed extremely active throughout my entire pregnancy. I lacquered up every night with so many different oils it was crazy. I know a lot of women feel self conscious after having a baby because its hard. Especially with this instagram world we live in. It seems as if everyone “snaps back” within a week!!
I made it crystal clear to my doctors that I did not want a c-section because I thought that it would interfere with my personal snapback goals lol. Luckily, I delivered AnnDrew vaginally. Once I got the ok to begin to workout again, I was back at it. I did light workouts in the house when the baby napped. I know I drove Drew crazy telling him how bad I looked everyday lol.
Trying to get your body back while balancing taking care of a new baby is no joke! Only women know and can relate to the struggle. You have to take care of the baby, your man, your home and yourself. Thats a job in itself. Eating right, getting rest and taking care of yourself contributes majorly to the snapback.
I ate very healthy while pregnant – tons of fruit and foods high in fiber. I drank mostly water and juice that is 100% juice. I worked out 4-5 times a week (I worked out pre-pregnancy, so this was safe for me to continue). I always started with cardio. I either did 25 minutes of walking, elliptical or light jogging. After the cardio, I did floor exercises and 100 squats with 10 pound weights everyday. I always googled workouts that were safe to do at certain months.
Here are some pics I wanted to share of my post baby body.
Awesome job Mel!
