Ever wake up one day and say, “Hey, want to get dinner in Miami tonight?” Lol I did! There is a quote I once heard, that I love:
Be spontaneous, be creative, go out and have fun, let things happen naturally.
The older I get, the more I desire to continue to live like that. We all know that life is short and we have to enjoy every moment of it. I decided to take a quick trip to Miami for dinner and relaxation and that’s exactly what we did.
I booked a room, flights and made dinner reservations… and it was all set!! Once we landed, we relaxed at the pool, ate great, got dinner, breakfast and overall had a spontaneous great time.
I know some people will say that they are unable to book a spontaneous trip. Here are some tips on how to plan a spontaneous trip without breaking the bank.
- Redeem your rewards – Learn how to maximize your credit card reward programs for even more travel perks. Also, make sure you are signed up with all airlines to make sure you are racking up frequent flyer miles.
- Drive to your destination – local visitor centers are a valuable resource for planning a vacation closer to home. It may be easier to plan a “staycation”. Also, many of the local and state tourism bureaus direct marketing campaigns at people who are looking for weekend getaways.
- Use apps for last minute hotel rooms – Consider resources like Hotel Tonight (the mobile app) for last minute deals. The app works with hotels in cities around the world to offer day-of deals for rooms at a steep discount. The app can also provide insight on booking a room for any budget.
