We went to Tulum, Mexico for a quick family getaway and it was lots of fun.

On the southern tip of the Riviera Maya, the former hippie outpost of Tulum has become Mexico’s most stylish beach destination.

I have been to Mexico plenty of times before, but never to Tulum.  A few friends of mine go frequently and I have always loved their vacation recaps, so I had to go see it for myself.  Once a sleepy beach outpost, Tulum has become a fashionable yet decidedly low-key escape on a bohemian Grand Tour. During the past decade, stylish expats have set up shop, working with native craftsmen to build chic yet authentic Mexican hotels and produce small accessories lines, while awesome chefs have drafted the fire of habaneros into a global cuisine with Italian, Asian, and Middle Eastern accents. While in this swanky town, we spent our time between Dreams Resort and Nomade. Nomade is a little piece of heaven on earth and it was definitely my favorite. If you visit Tulum, I would definitely recommend staying there. Now, you won’t get the all inclusive benefits like Dream offers, but all inclusives aren’t really my thing.  I feel like food and drinks aren’t as quality as a non-all inclusive hotel.

To get to Tulum, you must fly into Cancun and either rent a car or take a shuttle there. It takes a little over an hour to get there, but is a straight shot.

While there, we visited The Ruins and Tulum Beach and hung out at the beach all day!! It’s hard for me to not work at all and just relax, so I did get some work done each day while we were away. The Tulum Ruins are a five-minute drive north of downtown, and are reconstructed from the 13th through 15th centuries. The reconstructed temples are jaw-dropping—even from behind the ropes that they put up to keep the tourists back. When we were at Tulum Beach, I got a fish pedicure. OMGGGGaaahhhhh! When I first saw it, I got hype. When it was time for me to put my feet in, I got scared and was squealing like a baby pig LOL. It was actually pretty cool but I was nervous at the same time lol. It feels like a lot of tickles on your feet for about 20 minutes. But once I was done, girlll my feet felt good!

Overall, Tulum is beautiful and a great place to go to when you want to relax. Now, time to plan the next trip 😉

I don’t play when it comes to the sunblock on AnnDrew. I load her up with these products. Tulum is LOADED with mosquitoes. Oh man, We have been getting tore UP!!!

Enjoy pics from our vacation below 😉

This is awesome! Definitely living through you. We had a planned trip to Riviera Maya in August but had to cancel because my 7 month old was in the hospital :-(. God willing we will be able to get away soon! Also inspiring to see that you are still breastfeeding, Girllllll I’m about ready to give it all up! lol
