This year, I’ve put together 3 Mompreneurs: Mamas in Business panel events in 3 different cities – NYC, DC, ATL. For my last one of the year in LA, I decided to do something a bit different – an interactive networking hike! I named it “RUN • WALK • CHAT” that took place at Runyon Canyon Park and it was all that! I partnered with my friend who created her own Spin class business – Spiked Spin. Since I usually have panelists for the events, I wanted to keep that aspect still the same. Melanie Fiona and Ashley Chea were our guest speakers. These are two women that I admire for their transparency, motherhood journey, work ethic and all around great personality. If you aren’t familiar with them, I suggest you look them up.
We started off the event chatting it up and networking amongst each other. As an ice breaker, I asked everyone to meet at least 3 people they didn’t know before the event and to exchange info with them. No one was shy, and everyone did that with no problem! When everyone arrived, it was time to beginnnn! I introduced myself, gave a brief run down of the event then introduced Bri. Next, we got the show on the road. We had super cute custom water bottles, hats and bags full of water and fruit.
We played some music while we walked up the hill – of course starting off with some Beyonce. Everyone was motivating each other and it was so nice to see. A lot of us walked up the hill while carrying our babies in the baby carrier. AnnDrew slept the whole way up, so I had nothing but dead weight to walk with! Now that was a workout! Some women brought their older children and they were even getting their exercise on! We took a break halfway to our end point and Bri had everyone do some more stretches and she taught us some good fitness tips. When we got to our end point, we all listened to the guest speakers and everyone went around and told us about their businesses they own or will be launching. We took some pics and headed back down the hill. I really enjoyed this one because it served the same purpose but was fun and laid back.
Enjoy some pics from the event below and stay tuned for the next one! Special thanks my little brother from Hampton (Zach), who came and helped us carry items and snag some shots along the way. Photos taken by Diamond Surell.
