Looking for a cool and different gift to give someone, why not a billboard in Times Square! This year for my mom’s birthday, I wanted to do something different that I’ve never done for her. I decided to get her a surprise birthday shoutout on a billboard in Times Square. I KNEW she would love it. I mean, who wouldn’t?! It’s fun, unique and a great way to show someone you truly care about them.
I planned a weekend staycation around the billboard and I chose a hotel in Times Square that was across the street from the billboard, so we can easily get to it. I told her we were meeting someone, so we walked over to the spot a few minutes before it was time for her picture to pop up on the billboard and once it popped up, I told her to turn around! So exciting.
STEPS TO GET ON A BILLBOARD IN TIMES SQUARE
If you are thinking about doing this for someone you love, here are the steps I took:
–Click here for the booking website
-Click the big red button on the top toolbar that says “BOOK NOW”. I then chose option # 1 with no frame added. I looked at the specific dimensions needed for the picture to be able to upload it.
-I created my images and then turned them into a video. They give you the option of showcasing a video or a picture. I chose the video option because I wanted it to be more interactive.
-I uploaded the video and then I paid a bit extra to have the billboard air for 30 seconds versus 15 seconds.
Once you upload the image and then book the time slot, you will receive a confirmation email. Then another email that will let you know the exact minute mark that your media will be airing on the billboard. Your media will show every hour for 24 hours and they guarantee 22 plays per booking in the unlikely event of a power outage or billboard malfunction. You can even do same day submissions! Another cool thing about booking with them is, they offer a live stream of the billboard 24/7. If you want to let other people see your billboard that are not in NYC, they can tune in to the live stream.
