Last month, I went to Paris to celebrate my sister in law’s birthday. October is a perfect time to visit Paris. There aren’t as many crowds, the hotel prices are better and it’s beautiful during the weather transition. I wanted to create a post to give you some ideas on what to wear in Paris in October if you plan to go to Paris in the fall. The weather in Paris in October tends to be on the cooler/brisk side with temperatures ranging from 40s-60s with the average in the 60s. Paris in October also has some rainfall, so make sure you are prepared for that.

I checked the weather leading up to our trip and saw that we were going to have some warm days, so my outfits ranged from bundled up to spring looks lol. Enjoy this post on what to wear in Paris.

This coat is from my accessories line, Melanie Marie. The coat is available in 4 different colors. It was perfect to wear in Paris. Get the coat here.

MUST HAVE ITEMS TO PACK TO WEAR IN PARIS

  • Sweaters: Because we went in late October, it was very chilly in the early mornings and evenings (around 50 degrees), so I definitely recommend packing sweaters.
  • Lightweight jackets: I definitely recommend packing a lightweight jacket or two. A leather jacket or shag fur coat would be perfect. Anything from a leather jacket to a wool coat would also be a great option.
  • Pants: I recommend bringing a few different pairs of pants to switch up your outfits. A great pair of jeans, faux leather pants, stockings, and a pair of black leggings would be great to create many different looks. I suggest to leave your yoga pants at home. You will see a lot of Parisian women in mostly jeans and trousers.
  • Midi skirts & dresses: This is the perfect time of year to wear midi length skirts and dresses. You can with a chunky sweater and booties for a cute autumn look. I wore a dress and a skirt but made sure I wore tights or knee highs under to keep my legs warm.
  • Comfy shoes: A pair of comfortable shoes for walking around is a must in Paris at any time of year. When I wore a shoe with a heel, I would bring a pair of flats with me during the day. I recommend a pair of cute sneakers, loafers or flat boots. Paris always involves a lot of walking no matter what season but you will want to pack a pair of flats. Everyone in Paris wears sneakers these days, so you won’t be out of place.
  • Booties: It’s definitely cool enough to break out the booties in October.  They are also a great way to elevate your outfits.
  • Umbrella: October can be a bit rainy in Paris. So it would be smart to pack a travel umbrella just in case you encounter some showers. If you don’t pack one, that’s fine. Most hotels have them for guests to borrow during the day.

I hope this post gave you some good ideas on what to wear in Paris on your next Fall visit!
