You heard the saying “Drink water and mind your business!” Well now you can upgrade your water to a tastier version 😉

We always have some type of infused water at home, but I love the lemon and cucumber flavor. It has been proven that drinking 8-12 ounces of filtered water with fresh lemon first thing in the morning helps to jump start your metabolism and detox your body. Other ingredients that are great to add are mint and ginger because they help keep your immune system strong. Adding healthy ingredients to your water helps to keep you drinking more water which is great. If you aren’t a fan of these specific ingredients, you can add other fresh fruit options.

Ingredients:

1/2 cucumber

1/2 lemon

2 inches of fresh ginger root

10-12 fresh mint leaves

Pinch of Himalayan salt

Instructions:

Cut cucumber, lemon and lime into thin slices and chop ginger into cubes.

Add all ingredients to a large pitcher of water and stir in fresh mint.

Put in the refrigerator and drink up!

Benefits of adding cucumber to your water:

There are a lot of health benefits of cucumber water. To start, water helps flush and detox your body, it keeps you feeling more full so you don’t eat as much, and even helps increase your metabolism. If you’re trying to lose weight, drinking water is one of the easiest things you can do to give your efforts a boost. Second, cucumbers are what’s known as a “superfood”, which basically means they’re very nutrient rich and good for you. They also taste great with almost any fruit in fruit infused water recipes. When you put these two healthy ingredients together, the cucumber water benefits are extraordinary.

If you are more of an on the go person like I am, here is a good fruit infused water bottle to take with you. Click the photo to check it out and purchase.

Try it with strawberries, raspberry and mint. That’s my favorite.
