We just got back from a MUCH needed trip to Aruba! Typically, I am on a plane all the time and always looking forward to my next trip. Covid has slowed us all down and I was having theee worst travel withdrawal. There are a few destinations that are open right now, so we took advantage and went on a nice getaway.

Out of all of the places open, I felt Aruba was the safest to go to. They are very strict when it comes to Covid testing and traveling. If you plan on going to Aruba, make sure you check out the Visit Aruba website for their mandatory entry requirements.

The first thing you will need to do is complete the online ED card (embarkation/disembarkation card). This used to be handed out but is now completely digitized and is an essential process that all visitors must complete prior to traveling. The form just asks basic traveler information. It will also require you to purchase Aruba’s visitor insurance. They require you to either take your covid test prior to going OR you can get it done at their airport but you will have to pay a fee if you get it done at the Aruba Airport. If you get it done at their airport, you won’t be able to leave your hotel room until the results come back.  Covid tests must be taken 72 hours prior to departure of closure and you can either bring them with you or upload them when completing your online ED card. FYI- they do check all of your documents before you fly, after you fly and when you arrive to your hotel. We opted to take our tests the day before we left, so we didn’t have to worry about waiting for results when we got there.

PS- if you live in certain places that have high covid rates, you will have to take the test prior to traveling AND once you get to the Aruba Airport.

Now that all of the important details are out of the way, on to the trip!

This was my third time traveling to Aruba and I always have a good time. The weather is always nice and the beaches are so pretty. We visited Flamingo & Iquana Island, ate good food at different restaurants, rented beach cabanas and just enjoyed the time away. Definitely much needed after months being in quarantine.

We ate at great restaurants. Here are my suggestions and suggestions we got from others:

Madame Janette
Wilhelmina
Yemanja
Elements restaurant
LG Smith’s Steak & Chop
Cuba’s Cookin’

Here are my swimsuit looks that I wore on the trip:
